The Council comprises of representatives of trade unions, employee and employer bodies.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"8mrka\" data-offset-key=\"1dfdj-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"1dfdj-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"1dfdj-0-0\">Prior to the meeting, the <\/span><span class=\"diy96o5h\" spellcheck=\"false\" data-offset-key=\"1dfdj-1-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"1dfdj-1-0\">General Workers\u2019 Union GWU<\/span><\/span><span data-offset-key=\"1dfdj-2-0\"> requested a discussion on the Aviation sector, Maritime sector and British companies in Malta while <\/span><span class=\"diy96o5h\" spellcheck=\"false\" data-offset-key=\"1dfdj-3-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"1dfdj-3-0\">The Malta Chamber<\/span><\/span><span data-offset-key=\"1dfdj-4-0\"> requested a discussion on: Free movement of goods: impact on importation of UK goods to Malta, increase in tariffs, among other issues. The Malta Chamber of SMEs also asked for a number of points to be raised, including\u00a0on tourism, employment (Maltese citizens working in the UK), imports and exports.<\/span><\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"1dfdj-0-0\">Stefaan De Rynck, deputy head of the Task Force for Relations with the UK led the talks.<\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"1dfdj-0-0\">The UK Task Force is a department of the European Commission in charge of coordinating all the European Commission&#8217;s work on strategic, operational, legal and financial-related issues in relation to the UK&#8217;s withdrawal from the EU and its future relationship with the European Union.<\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"1dfdj-0-0\">MCESD Executive Secretary Ms Adriana Chircop also participated in the meeting.<\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"1dfdj-0-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"8mrka\" data-offset-key=\"5tjb5-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"5tjb5-0-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"8mrka\" data-offset-key=\"croa0-0-0\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A number of MCESD council representatives today held a meeting with the UK Brexit Task Force.
